From One Wildly Creative Soul to AnotherBy Molly J. Anderson-ChildersI am a writer and artist living in Durango, Colorado. The natural beauty of this region is a constant source of inspiration and strength for me. I love the great outdoors, and feel happiest when I am hiking, camping, or just watching the clouds. My creative dreams are coming true — every day, I see something new taking place that will bring me closer to my dreams than ever before. One day, I know I will achieve all I hope for. Recently, I got the chance to display my visual art publicly for the first time. The exhibit, "Emotional Expressions of Eating Disorders," is a multimedia group show featuring the work of fifteen local artists. I contributed three collages reflecting my own experience with anorexia nervosa, exploring the root causes as well as my healing process. It is my hope that this show will educate our community and bring awareness to this important issue. I believe that writing and creating artwork is my one sacred purpose in this life. I devote as much time as possible to achieving my creative goals. Although I juggle several part-time jobs and struggle with a busy schedule, I dream of a time in the future when I can belly-dance with The Muses all day. With this goal before me, I know I am unstoppable. I believe that everyone is an artist, whether they know it or not. Through workshops, classes, and private arts instruction, I share this belief with others, inspiring them to create fabulous poems, stories, and artwork. Please contact me for information about workshops and classes in the Durango area via email: stealingplums@yahoo.com. If you are too far away to attend my next workshop, don't despair! I also offer individualized arts instruction via phone and email for clients that live outside the area.
I hope to delight, inspire, and excite your Inner Artist. Contact me today! Molly J. Anderson-Childers • P.O. Box 4281 • Durango, CO 81302-4281 |
