Creativity Portal Featured in 'Web-Based Learning' Textbook

Web-Based LearningNOVEMBER 13, 2005 — A new textbook titled "Web-Based Learning: Design, Implementation, and Evaluation" (Pearson Merrill Prentice Hall, 2006) by Gayle V. Davidson-Shivers and Karen L. Rasmussen features Creativity-Portal.com as an example "portal structure" Web site in chapter one.

The authors note on page 6:

Another way that commercial entities share information is by integrating portal structures into the websites. An example is the Creativity Portal (Figure 1.4). These types of portals combine products and free information. Many websites also contain articles and ways to communicate with other interested parties.

The Publisher's Web site describes the Web-based Learning textbook "for courses in graduate courses in instructional design, web-based design, and distance learning."

Looking for an easy-to-read, practical book on web-based learning? Web-Based Learning: Design, Implementation, and Evaluation clearly instructs readers how to design effective Web courses, create a community of Web-based learners, and implement and evaluate Web-based instruction through an easy to follow ID framework. Case studies and discussion questions extend readers skills, inspire discussion, and encourage readers to explore the trends and issues related to Web-based instructional design and delivery.
