President Obama's Committee For The Arts And Humanities Pushes For Arts And Creativity
He's promoting this philosophy: To remain competitive in the global economy, America needs to reinvigorate the kind of creativity and innovation that has made this country great. To do so, we must nourish our children's creative skills. In addition to giving our children the science and math skills they need to compete in the new global context, we should also encourage the ability to think creatively that comes from a meaningful arts education. This objective of President Barack Obama is a positive move in the world of the arts and innovative thinking.

Well, here we are at the climax of the season and the end of another wonderful year. As you spend the next week or so celebrating the holidays, remember to cherish the memories you are making with your loved ones and truly enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Remember too, "there is more happiness in giving than there is in receiving." Although receiving is nice too. :-)

DIY Gift Packaging and Crafts
I spent several hours yesterday experimenting with a very cool DIY product that just excites the gills out of me. It's a creative gift packaging concept developed by Janlia Chong (diygiftpackage.com), that allows you to print gift packaging templates on your inkjet or laser printer, piece them together on a sturdy material such as poster board, and fold them into completely novel gift boxes and paper crafts.
