I Ain't Afraid of No Ghost(writer)

Raise your hand if you ever wore a Ghostbusters movie t-shirt with that circle-slash ghosty thing in the 1980s. If your hand is up (or if you're simply keen on the subject of ghostwriting) follow me...

Aren't roundtable discussions in articles fun to read? I mean, not only do you get to learn more about a topic that interests you, but you also get invaluable input from a variety of professional "experts" who can give you just the right piece of information or advice to help guide your next step.

As with any Creativity Portal "first", it's my pleasure to unveil the very first roundtable discussion article written by Dave Duggins titled, "Is Ghostwriting a Good Way to Make a Living?"

Who did Dave call upon for this discussion? He says, "The folks I spoke with were professionals — previously published, with substantial credits of their own — employed by professionals, writing to deadline every day of their working lives to meet the demands of high-profile clients with marketable stories worth telling." Don't be afraid; this piece not only discusses ghostwriting as a way to make a living, but also answers the inevitable question that comes along with the territory: "How do I find work as a ghostwriter?" Boo-yah!

Introducing the Behance Team
I'm also thrilled to unveil our newest Author Series partner: Behance. Behance develops knowledge, products, and services that help creative people and teams make ideas happen. Their tips for creative professionals have been featured on MSNBC and across the web.

The Behance Team's first feature is Present Yourself: Self-Marketing is OK!, which discusses a communications strategy to presenting yourself professionally to clients and potential customers.

You can learn more about Behance, their "Action Method," (practiced by creative teams in small studios and larger companies like Miramax Films and Apple), and their unique creativity products by visiting www.behance.com.

Is Ghostwriting a Good Way to Make a Living?

Q. I've heard that ghostwriting is a good way for writers to make a living, but I've also heard that writers who “ghost” books don't get recognition for their work. BONUS: I want to be a ghostwriter. How do I find work?
