The Flowering of Calendar-ness (Printable 2010 Calendar)

For everyone who's been asking about it (especially if you missed it in 2009), a new decade-ance of a calendar has arrived in the day-counting aisle of the Creativity Portal. Yes, I'm talking about my freebulous calendar, and I'm gifting it to you!

This beautifully designed 12-month 2010 calendar features unique ‘painted’ flower images from my own photo library and fresh color schemes for each month coupled with a thought-provoking sentiment focused around love, beauty, wonder, and creativity. Two calendar styles are available, a full-page version and a CD jewel case insert version both easy to print on standard letter-size paper or card stock.

And for the first year ever, the annual Creativity Portal calendar is tied in with a charitable cause to help support the nurturing of children's creativity through The International Child Art Foundation (ICAF). More »

Before I Think, I'd Like to Thank...
  • Catherine Hughes from 8 Women Dream for naming Creativity Portal in her list of "The Top 48 Most Motivational and Inspirational Web Sites."

  • The wonderful, eccentric artist Violette (www.violette.ca), for collaborating with me on a Journal Bliss mind-mapping illustration for my new Creative Sprouts™ Collaborative Co-Creators kid's playshop. Violette's been quite the busy bee this year, offering creative catalyst sessions and online classes in her hive along with daily blogs.

  • The Wise Women from Womanspace for allowing me to share my creative talents at the Center through engaging volunteer opportunities and for supporting my many experimental schemes manifested through art and creativity playshops since 2005. Congratulations on 35 years, Dorothy and Elaine!

If you can read, consider yourself lucky. Many high school graduates and American adults are functionally illiterate. If you can read, thank a teacher today. If you can’t, the man I’m interviewing today may be able to explain why.

How Penelope Cruz Leverages Her Fear to Create Mastery

Fear and panic are not great external forces; they are powerful internal ones, generated deep in the part of the brain that is home to what I playfully call the Inner Critic.

The Role of Relationships, Love, and Solitude in the Creative Process

I had started off searching for a better understanding of creative relationships. But instead, I discovered something more intriguing, thanks to Georgia O’Keeffe.

Note to Beginner Writers

So many new writers have barely put pen to page when they start asking about how to find an agent or get published.
