Light Your Lantern

The light at the end of the tunnel is closer than you think.

By Patricia J. Mosca | Updated 3/27/16

“Look for the light at the end of the tunnel.” How many different ways have you heard that said? And how do you keep your light lit?

As we ride the train of life there are many tunnels that we come to and have to go through in order to get where we want to be. The darkness of those tunnels can cause us to not only lose sight of the light that is at the end, but also the light that shines within us can begin to flicker.

What does the light do for us?

That light offers us a way to brighten our thoughts, and shine a different perspective on whatever it is that we are going through. At the moment that we are going through the dark tunnel we may not be able to see the light, but we must remember it is only a temporary moment. That not too far off there is a light that shines for us, the light that is there to guide us from the inside out.

The darkness of the tunnel can present itself to us in so many ways. From a place of deep sorrow when we lose someone, to a place of self-sabotage, where we are losing ourself.

When we remember that we are the ones that have to keep our light burning, we can begin to choose if the tunnel is short or long. Often the one thing that we need is to have faith that we can get through whatever comes our way. By shining our light during dark times we continue to grow despite the darkness.

When we keep our lantern lit we are reminded of our strength and our truth.

During dark times we can choose to:

  • remember to light our lantern.
  • believe in ourselves.
  • know that this moment of darkness will pass.
  • be present and feel the glow of our light from within.

How do you keep your lantern lit?
