Project Instructions
Step 1Start with a plain wooden tray.
Step 2Paint the tray with 2 coats of acrylic paint.
Step 3Glue the tile on to the tray in a random pattern. Paint the inside edge of the tray with sealer to protect it from grout.
Step 4Next, mix up your grout and scoop a large dollop on the tray.
Step 5Using a paint scraper, push the grout into the tile.
Step 6Let the grout sit a few minutes, then use a damp sponge to wipe off the excess grout.
Step 7Continue wiping off the grout with a damp sponge. Don't let it dry on the tile.
Step 8Stamp decorative stars on the side of the tray. You can use a foam or rubber star stamp and acrylic paint.
Step 9When the tray is completely dry add 2-3 coats of protective sealer. • © 2010 Joy St. Germain. All rights reserved. More with Joy St. Germain
