Chris Dunmire ("funmire") is the founder of Creativity Portal, a website she launched in 2000 to inspire individuals to tap into their creative potential. With a deep passion for fostering creativity, Chris provides a wealth of resources, exercises, and inspirational content aimed at helping people from all walks of life — whether they’re artists, writers, musicians, or anyone seeking to enhance their creative expression.
In addition to Creativity Portal, Chris is also a champion of the Positive Playfullness Movement, which encourages individuals to embrace playfulness and joy as essential elements of the creative process. She believes that creativity flourishes when people approach it with a sense of lightness, fun, and openness. Through her work, she emphasizes the importance of playful exploration and positive thinking as tools for overcoming creative blocks and unlocking new ideas.
Chris's approach is rooted in the belief that creativity is a natural and accessible part of everyone’s life. Her mission continues to inspire individuals to break free from self-doubt and embrace their creative journeys with enthusiasm, confidence, and curiosity.

Hi, I'm funmire, a non-AI imaginary being, a practicing humorist, and avid creativity enthusiast.
I go by Chris in 3D space, but decided to embrace the nickname my friend Patrick gave me years ago after we invented the Mixed-Up Cliche game to make our days in production more fun. Not long after, I founded the award-winning Creativity Portal™ web site in 2000, did a bunch of fun things, and then launched the Positive Playfullness™ movement in 2024. Somewhere in between I mastered the highly-esteemed trademark ALT+ keyboard combination, earned a couple of degrees, forayed into creativity coaching and elementary education, and have been immersed in instructional design and experiential learning.
Some of my noteworthy projects, including the 'Cashius monetarius' dollar bill origami Money Plant, Mirecle33 Creativity Patch, and Impossible April Fool's Word Search Puzzles, have delighted educators and publishers worldwide. My creative work has also earned recognition from esteemed institutions and individuals, including the Denver Art Museum, Writer's Digest magazine, Kim Komando, SARK, Good Housekeeping, Creativity Coaching founder Eric Maisel, PhD, and Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching founder Jill Badonsky, MEd.
Enjoy a few of my creations below.
