Marcia (Phillips) West

1. What's your name?

Marcia A. (Phillips) West.

2. Where are you from?

Loves Park, IL, USA.

3. Who are you today?

I am who I've always been. That has not changed, but my conscious awareness of it has evolved. I am a Universal Being of Love whose essences of Peace, Harmony, and Unity Consciousness are helping humanity to remember our oneness within, with one another, and with the rest of the Universe.

4. What do you do? (Elevator speech)

I help others come to a greater awareness and love of themselves. In the process, healing and change occurs that fosters alignment of one's life with the True Self and the highest good of all. I do this through writing, public speaking, teaching, intuitive healing sessions by phone or in person, and everyday interactions with others.

5. What's your story (how did you get here)?

I have had several wonderful careers that taught me many things about myself and helped to develop my talents. (High School Teacher, Retail Store Owner, Stay-at-home Mom, Artist, Engineer, Massage Therapist, Author, Healer.) The work was enjoyable, but never enough to truly fulfill me. I found myself always "striving" for the next thing. I did the same thing with religion. One day I looked into my heart and saw an endless well of tears. I couldn't see myself in the deep darkness of that well. I didn't know who I was. That was a devastating feeling, and gave me the impetus to fill the well with what I now know to be the Love That I Am — my own unique spark of the Divine.

6. Why is creativity important to you?

My essence and wisdom come through when I write, teach, and help others to heal. I feel my own presence very strongly, and a connection to the Universal Divinity in each of us. I always learn something new, and appreciate being a vehicle for that. It is also very satisfying to work with other beings, both physical and non-physical. As opposed to working alone, the co-creative process takes me to even higher levels of creativity and understanding. As I was writing the chakra book Seven Portals To Your Soul: An Accessible Guide for Mending Your Life, clients would show up for massage and intuitive healing related to the chakra about which I was currently writing, filling in the gaps and providing me with additional information and insights.

7. When/how did you realize you had a creative dream or calling to fulfill?

I had a vision in 1996, while sitting at my desk and looking out the window to the parking lot. I was an engineer and training manager at the time. I clearly saw myself on stage speaking to a standing room only crowd of hundreds of people. My words and energy were helping them to heal.

8. How did you embrace it?

I believed this to be a vision for my future. I decided to stop climbing the corporate ladder and wait for further instruction. Six months later my own spiritual journey began to evolve very quickly when I decided it was time to fill the inner emptiness. Eight months after that decision, I was told in meditation that I would write spiritual self-help books, teach, and bring people together to facilitate healing in others (co-create a healing center). Two months later, I quit my job, left a dysfunctional marriage, and began writing.

9. How did that feel?

It felt like I was finally free to explore who I am and to create a life that aligned with me.

10. Where has your journey taken you?

I think the most significant shift in my life has been letting go of the need to do things to feel valuable or satisfied. I am no longer in "striving" mode. I have opened my heart to who I Am. In the presence of my own God-given divine essence, I feel my innate value. It is satisfying and fulfilling.

11. What challenges have you faced?

The challenges I have faced have also been the major lessens I needed to learn, and the areas in which I have been able to help others most effectively. After quitting my job, I learned to TRUST that I would be taken care of, no matter what. I also learned to LET GO of the expectations created by my mind, and allow life to flow. And I have learned that emotionally difficult times are usually harbingers of upcoming CHANGE for the better.

12. What worked for you?

At first, many times a day, I would ground myself and run the energy of forgiveness through me to help me to let go of old baggage and shift into a higher vibrational state of love. Now I use the Tools of Change for that. Letting my Higher Self guide my life to be in alignment with who I am and the highest good of all always puts me in flow with the Divine (even if it doesn't feel that way at the time).

13. What didn't work for you?

Trying to plan my life according to what I thought it should look like didn't work. Most of those thoughts come from a world view of success. Not only was it very stressful, but it created roadblocks until I was willing to let go and allow another way to unfold. This was truly a creative process!

14. What three tips can you share with those starting on a similar path?

  1. Be willing to trust that God (Source, Universe) is taking care of you, no matter what.
  2. Be patient with yourself and your journey.
  3. Set the intent in all matters that you align with your highest good, and the highest good of all.

15. What are you working on now?

I have recently started a blog to help us all experience greater wholeness and harmony, and to navigate the upcoming changes with greater ease. This will make the information that is coming forth more immediately accessible than waiting to put it into a book.

16. What's coming up for you in the next year?

My intention is to align myself and my life even more fully with my I Am presence (my True Self).

17. What else do you desire/dream to do?

My greatest dream is to do my part to reunify this world and universe. I have a desire to work with leaders to facilitate unity consciousness.

18. How will you make that happen?

My being who I Am, first and foremost, and allowing my life to be divinely guided moment by moment. I also intend to do more public speaking, be in the presence of greater numbers of people, and write.

19. What question would you like to answer that hasn't been asked?

How can we enter into a state of unity consciousness?

Unity consciousness occurs when every individual embraces his or her uniqueness and that of each other, and co-creates an environment where everyone is encouraged to be the piece of the whole puzzle that is theirs alone to fill.
